Riyadh – The 74th Republic Day was celebrated on a grand scale in the presence of hundreds of Indians at the Embassy of India in Riyadh. Enthusiastic Indian expatriates gathered in large number to witness unfurling of the national flag despite chilly weather.
Ambassador of India Dr. Suhail Ajaz Khan unfurled the national flag. Then he read out the message of the President of the Republic of India Mrs. Draupadi Murmu to the nation. On this occasion the Ambassador paid homage to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding it.
Later, the students from International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) and International Indian Public School Riyadh (IIPSR) presented a colorful cultural program comprising national songs and dances. Audience enjoyed and appreciated the performance of the students. Secretary Press and Information Moin Akhtar anchored the program. The embassy was lavishly decorated for the event.
