Nizamabad – Urdu department of Telangana University conferred PhD to Syeda Amina Maqbool on her thesis “Journalistic Services of Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez”. She completed her research under the supervision of Prof. Ather Sultana, Former Head of Urdu Department at the university.The viva was conducted at the seminar hall of the university on 11th August. As an external examiner, Prof. S A Shukoor from Osmania University asked several questions from the research scholar. She confidently replied to all the questions.
Controller of Examinations, Prof. Aruna formally announced the awarding of PhD to Syeda Amina Maqbool. Dean Faculty of Arts, Prof. Kankayya congratulated her on receiving Ph.D.
Viva program was coordinated by Chairman Board of Studies, Telangana University, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qavi while Dr. Muhammad Musa Qureshi, Dr. Gul-e-Rana and other research students congratulated the successful scholar. Her family members were elated on her receiving the PhD.
The current year seems to be very lucky for Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez. Recently he visited Saudi Arabia to perform Haj upon special invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz. Prior to that, he received state and national awards in recognition of his journalistic services.
In Feb this year he was conferred with the National Award of excellence in Journalism by the Press Council of India. He was the first Urdu journalist to receive this accolade.
In June Telangana Urdu Academy honored him with a lifetime achievement award in Journalism.
Now in August, a scholar got PhD on his journalistic services.
In addition to several honors and accolades, his book on Journalism “Urdu Media Kal Aaj aur Kal” is included in two Universities in the syllabus of MA Journalism. This book is considered as encyclopedia of Urdu Journalism.
His article on Radio Journalism is included in the Urdu Medium Mass Communication Syllabus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Delhi.
Dr. Fazil Hussain Parvez have authored six books which are “Azharuddin Cricket ka Shahzada”, “Yadon ka karwan” (biography of Hakeem G A Qadri, Guinness world record holder, 12 people of a single family worked in the same field), “Cricket record and reference book”, “Sach to Magar Kahne do” and “Sach hi to hai” (collections of his editorials published in Gawah weekly) and two editions of “Urdu Media Kal Aaj aur Kal” (considered to be the encyclopedia of Urdu Journalism).
His next book “Kadwa Sach” another collection of his editorials is under publication.
