Riyadh – Eminent educationalist and Principal AlYasim International School, Riaydh Dr. Shoukat Parvez stressed on the necessity to impart primary education in mother tongue. The institutions and organizations working in educational field are indeed following the divine order as the holy Quran stressed on education not only with the first word “Iqra” but the word Quran is in fact derived from Iqra. He was delivering the key note address in the tenth anniversary celebration of Bazm-e-Urdu Toastmasters Club (BUTMC) at Red Onion Restaurant. He spell-bound the audience with his unique articulation proficiency.
The chief guest Moin Akhtar, Second Secretary (Community Welfare), Embassy of India, Riyadh said that Urdu and Hindi languages are like sisters. He heard about the Toastmasters Clubs in several languages like English, Arabic, Urdu etc. but never known about any Hindi Toastmasters Club. He urged the Hindi speaking community in Saudi Arabia to establish a Hindi Toastmasters Club.
He recalled and appreciated the “Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira” organized by BUTMC at Indian Embassy Auditorium las year and advised to organize it this year also.
Both the speakers congratulated the BUTMC officials and members on its tenth anniversary.
Bazm-e-Urdu Toastmasters Club, Riyadh was established in 2013 by Arch. M.A.R Saleem. Toastmasters International was founded by Ralph C. Smedley on October 22, 1924, in California, United States and today the organization serves over 364,000 members in 145 countries, through 16,200 clubs.
Founder member of BUTMC TM Syed Abdul Hamid started the program enthusiastically as Sergeant at arms by briefly introducing the Toastmaster meeting’s regulations. He then invited the Emcee TM Syed Ateeq Ahmed who conducted the proceedings flawless and eloquently.
Area 1 Director, Mirza Zaheer Baig presented floral bouquets to the chief guest and keynote speaker.
Immediate Past President of BUTMC, TM Mohammed Saifuddin elaborated the achievements of BUTMC in his tenure and highlighted the memorable events like Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira at Indian Embassy Auditorium, International Women’s Day, International Journalists Day, Ramadhan Event etc. He also mentioned the awards and accolades received by BUTMC in last program year.
The Present President of BUTMC, a prominent figure in social circles and an eminent journalist TM K. N. Wasif presented his vision and plans for the program year 2023-24. He introduced his team of ExCom members. They are Syed Ateeq Ahmed, Abdul Quddus Javed, Syed Iftequar Hashmi, Mohammed Mubeen, Syed Abdul Hamid, Syed Mubarak Hussain and Mohammed Saifuddin.
The outgoing ExCom transferred the Toastmasters pins to the incoming ExCom team.
Founder Member of BUTMC TM Dr. Sayeed Nawaz highlighted the decade long journey of the club. He mesmerized the audience with his unique diction of Urdu.
Glittering awards were presented to the founder members and past Presidents of BUTMC for their tremendous services. Upcoming and dedicated members of BUTMC were also honored with plaques of appreciation.
Recipients of the awards were Architect Abdul Rahman Saleem, Dr. Syed N. Masood, Architect Abdul Rauf Ateeq, Muhammad Mubeen, Abdul Quddus Javed, K N Wasif, Syed Abdul Hamid, Memon Abdul Qadir Sait, Syed Iftikhar Hashmi, Syed Mubarak Hussain, Syed Ateeq Ahmed, Saleem Ahmed, Mohammed Abdul Khader, Dr. Saeed Nawaz, Mirza Zaheer Baig, Dr. Sayeed Mohiuddin, Kausar Naseem, Mohammed Abdul Saleem and Mohammed Saifuddin.
Dist. 79 Club Growth Director, DTM Afdhal Shaheer, Dist. Admin Manager, DTM Rozel Sinon, Division A Director, DTM Riyas Ibrahim Kutty and Past Program Quality Director Dist. 79, DTM S. R. Sridhar graced the occasion.
