Riyadh – Editor of “Daur e Jadeed” Urdu daily Shahroz Tarique Raza appreciated the Indian expatriates for their concerns about the homeland. “Despite living far away from India; you people are not only well aware of the situation in India but also concerned about the fellow countrymen”, he added. “Daur e Jadeed” is simultaneously published from Delhi, Patna and Jharkhand.
It is a common practice among NRIs here to welcome important personalities visiting from the homeland at formal or informal gatherings to interact and exchange ideas with them.
As Raza is currently on a personal visit to Saudi Arabia, his longtime friend and social activist Syed Wasi Ahmed arranged a reception his honor.
Members of various social, cultural and educational organizations, friends and journalists participated in this informal gathering and felicitated him. On this occasion, participants discussed the prevailing situation of the home country India. Tariq Raza, who came to Riyadh for the first time, thanked the host and guests.
At the beginning, host of the event Syed Wasi Ahmed introduced the guest and welcomed the audience. Tariq Raza left Riyadh for Makkah on Thursday morning.
