Riyadh – Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club Riyadh dedicated its 165th meeting to Dr. Ozair Ghazi as they bid an impressive farewell to him. He is returning to home city of Hyderabad after an impressive stint of 47 years in Saudi Arabia.
During his long stay here, he served in the government hospitals at Madinah and Riyadh. In addition to that he also served at the Royal Clinic and was also the part of medical team of King Fahad Bin Abdulaziz.
An alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University where he completed his MBBS, Dr. Ozair Ghazi joined Saudi Health Ministry in 1976. He was the founding member of Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club (BUTMC) and also served the club as president for one term.
Sergeant at arms TM Syed Abdul Hamed welcomed the gathering and BUMTC President Mohammed Saifuddin welcomed the gathering. TM Abdul Quddus Javed, TM Kauser Naseem, TM Mohammed Abdul Khader, TM Azeemuddin Zubair, TM Syed Abdul Hamed, TM Syed Mubarak Hussain, TM Mohammed Ayub, TM Syed Ateeq, TM Mohammed Saleem Ahmed and DTM Mohammed Mubeen expressed their views and hailed the commitment of Dr. Ozair for the promotion of Urdu language and the club. All of them specially mentioned about his great characteristic caliber, mastery in Urdu language, discipline, dedication, commitment and punctuality.
TM Syed Ateeq read out the message of TM Syed Ifteqar Hashmi. Senior members to the club TM Dr. Syed N Masod and TM Architect Abdulraoof Ateeq were also present.
Prominent literary figure of Hyderabad Dr. Mirza Mustafa Ali Baig (Javed Kamal) who is in Riyadh on personal visit, attended the event as guest of honor. Editor of the quarterly literary magazine “Rekhta Nama” addressed the gathering and read out his humorous article “hum wazifa khwar huey”.
TM Abdul Quddus Javed presented plaque of appreciation to Dr. Ozair Ghazi while DTM Mohammed Mubeen presented him a shawl.
IN his speech Dr. Ozair Ghazi stressed on the necessity to transfer Urdu language with all its richness to the new generation. Youngsters should be persuaded to read and write Urdu language then only it will flourish in future. He assured that he will be associated with the club and will connect with the club through online meetings.
K N Wasif conducted the proceedings while the president Mohammed Saifuddin made the closing remarks.
